He added fifteen percent more hops to the IPA because he thought it needed it. Earl tasted it, looked at him, and said something Liam hasn't forgotten: \"It's good. But it's not mine. If you want to make yours, find a place.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe didn't fire him. He opened the door. And since then Liam doesn't touch anyone's recipe without being asked. It sounds like manners. It's something else. It's knowing that someone else's beer has its reasons, even if you can't see them, and that changing it without asking is a type of arrogance you don't notice until someone like Earl points it out with six words and a glass in hand.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe T-shirt carries that portrait. The skull sweater, the direct gaze, the hands you can't see but that you sense are large, dense, built for moving sacks and holding pint glasses.
